Resilency

Being resilient is to be able to bounce back buring hardships, and to be able to cope in adverse conditions. You can feel resilient when you have connections with other people, so you can discuss feelings that have occurred. Resiliency occurs when you can cope with change and end up the same at the end. (Werner & Johnson, 1999)

I believe resiliencep is an important issue because it prevents people from having a breakdown or going crazy. I think resiliency is relevant because if we were not resilient, we would probably be going insane, and become uncivilised.

Around 20% of the world's children and adolescents have mental disorders or problems. Also, 25% of young Australians say that they are unhappy with their lives. This is why we need to be more resilient than ever before.

Research states that in order to help youth develop resilience, they need to increase and grow their mental and emotional strength.

Also, research has shown that the developmental supports and opportunities (protective factors) increase the chance of a youth growing up having a happy healthy life.
