Demostrating resilience increases youth's self-efficacy because they are able to see evidence of their ability to:-face challenges competenly -make productive desicions about adressing challenges-thin about and be accountable of their actions -influence their developement and well-being in a positive direction (weiner and johnson 1999)

How can I be resilient.....Stay Flexible: people who are resilient are able to adjust their goals and find different ways to adapt.Take action: Resilient people work on solving a problem rather than letting themselves get paralyzed by negativityBuild Positive Beliefs in Your Abilities: self-esteem plays an important role in coping with stress and recovering from difficult events. Remind yourself of your strengths and accomplishments.


What's Resilience?Resilience is being able to cope with the stress of change or a loss and recover quickly from difficult situations. (weiner and johnson 1999)

Michael Jordan: Most people wouldn’t believe that a man often called the best basketball player of all time was actually cut from his high school basketball team. Luckily, Jordan didnt let this dilema stop him from playing the game, his game. Michael Jordan is an excellent example of being resilient becasue of his ability to keep working even though he didn't make his high school team.
