Rene Descartes

Rene was born in 1596 in France, he was a member of the military for some time before he became a philosopher and created the famous idea of "I think, therefore I am."

Althouogh he was religous, Rene didn't belive that prayers acomplished anything, despite providing "proof" God was real. He refused to believe in anything proposed by others and didn't even trust his own senses.

Rene made many advancements in science and mathematics with ideas like the Cartestian Plane, Analytical Geometry and many of his ideas aided in the discovery of many more things, and greatly influenced Isaac Newton's ideas as well

Rene's proof that God existed stated that he was a lower being who could not comphrehend God's existance unless God gave him that knowledge, and he had a very clear idea of God

He proposed many Humanist ideas like new advances in math and science as well as philosophy while still being religous
