Steps taken during a 30 min. tutoring session* Student first rereads 2 easy books*Student works on a book introduced in a previous lesson. The teacher conducts a 'running record' where they record errors and reading strategies while the student reads.*Student manipulates plastic letters on a magnetic board to work with letters*Student dictates and practices writingTeacher works with student on spelling difficult words before the students writes them.*Teacher writes the sentence on a strip of paper, cuts it up and asks the student to recreate it. *Student prepares for and reads an unfamiliar book.
