Reduce, Reuse & RecycleAtziry LuceroDr. NtemngwaPED 3303November 17, 2015

EARTH DAYIt was first celebrated in 1970 and since than, on April 22 Earth is celebrated.

Defenition: Use again or more than once.While manufacturing new products drains our limited natural resources, and disposing of unwanted materials pollutes our environment, our communities face difficulties getting the affordable goods they need. One way to prevent waste, improve our communities, and increase the material well-being of our citizens is to take useful products discarded by those who no longer want or need them and provide them to those who do. Benefits of Reuse: · - thrift stores and charitable drop-off centers; · -reuse centers, equipment and materials; · -"drop & swap" stations at landfills; · -used equipment stores and salvage yards;

Defenition: Make smaller or less in amount, degree, or size."Source reduction" is reducing waste before you purchase it, or by purchasing products that are not wasteful in their packaging or use. A key part of waste "reduction" is "conservation"—using natural resources wisely, and using less than usual in order avoid waste. You can practice reduction by selecting products that do not have to be added to landfills or the waste stream in general.Benefits of Reduce:-First and foremost, buy and use less, too much can harm the environment.-Start making wise "package" selections, waste can be reduce like this.-Refuse store bags!, this reduces the plastic.

Defenition: Convert (waste) into reusable material.There are many reasons why it's important to recycle and compost as much as possible: It conserves raw materials – making new products out of recycled materials reduces the need to consume precious resources. So recycling helps protect raw materials and protect natural habitats for the future.Benefits of Recycling:•Reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators•Conserves natural resources such as timber, water, and minerals•Prevents pollution by reducing the need to collect new raw materials•Saves energy•Reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change
