Raphael

RaphaelBy: Andrea Garcia

Raphael was born Raffaello Sanzio on April 6, 1483, in Urbino, Italy. By the time Rafael was 11, his father named Giovanni died and he then had to take over his fathers workshop. His father had taught him how to paint when he was young, and after taking over his fathers workshop, he was considered one of the finest painters in town. In the 1500s Raphael got an apprenticeship that lasted him 4 years and got him painting his own pieces. It was 1504 when he left and moved to Florenec where he found a lot of inspiration and started creating his Madonnas. Raphael moved to Rome in 1508 to paint in the Vatican "Stanze." From then on he only did more work to get more recogniztion. When Raphael was 37, he died unexpectedly but left a legacy of his artwork, especially of his last piece he was working on that no one will forget
