Radiometric Dating

The man we have to thank to properly "date" the age of the Earth! He discovered it to be 4.5 billion years old through the radiometric dating system and devised his necessary laboratory known as "The Clean Room".

Patterson utilized lead and uranium samples from the Canyon Diablo Meteor in Arizona. He studied the half-lifes and of isotopes to determine the age of the Earth.

Such dating methods have proven to be extremely resourceful in terms of discovering ages of nearby space bodies
