In the 1920s, the radio emerged as a popular way to find out information from all over the country like the results of presidential elections and sporting events. To many Americans, this was magical and amazing to listen to.

The 1920s brought around the first radio broadcasts. The first ever broadcast was the presidential results between Harding and Cox.

When the first broadcast went out in 1920, there was only a couple thousand receivers out in the U.S. After that, the number of receivers quickly rose because of all of the excitement around radio.

Once radios got popular, there were many types of broadcasts that aired. Some include sports games, news shows, advertisments and comedy skits or acts for families to enjoy.
