Rabaul (Tavurvur) volcano eruptions: 1994-2010, 1943, 1941-42, 1940, 1937, 1878, , 1791, 1767
•Geophysical location: Boundary of Australian plate and Pacific plate, where the Pacific plate is subducting under the Australia
Effects:In the 1937 eruption, it killed about 500 people. The 1994 eruption killed fewer than 10 people. The 1994 Rabaul eruption destroyed the city of Rabaul. Parts of Rabaul remain covered in layers of ash, business and stores where all relocated to nearby Kokopo.
The Rabaul volcano demolisted the city of Rabaul in Papua New Guinea, when it erupted in 1994. The Rabaul volcano is still very active.
