Early Life

- Elizabeth was named after her grandmother.- She has 2 other siblings, a half sister Mary, and a half brother Henry VI.- At the age of 2 years old her mother was executed by her father. - Elizabeth was well educated. She was privately tutored in languages and music. She fluently spoke French and Italian. - She didn't the typical royal lifestyle due to her father's politcal intrigues surrounding her.

- After Elizabeth's sister died 1558, she took over her place and became ruler. - Elizabeth caused military conflicts between Scotland and France. - Elizabeth was protestant but no one really knew her religious affairs. - She continued the work of her father by establishing the Church of England.- She made a compromise between Anglicanism and Catholicism to strengthen the English Church.

- Queen Elizabeth had her own grand entrance into the theatre.- Queen Elizabeth was on throne for a couple of years before Shakespeare came to London.- All Shakespeare's plays were performed for a royal occasion.- Plays that were performed for Queen Elizabeth were Loves, Labor, Lost and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
