Quadratic Functions

The Rainbow is an arch making it a parabola.

If the "a" term in your equation is a positive then your graph will go up making it a minimum.

Minimum Quadratic Function: y=x^2+3x-4

How to find X-intercepts:Look at your B terms and C terms. Find two numbers that can be added to get the B term, but multiplied to get the C term(MA Table). From there, you must group the numbers together and then factor each side. Take the numbers and letters you used for factoring and put them together. Then equal them to zero and the answer will be the opposite of before.

How to find the Vertex:x=-b/2(a)x=-1/2(0)=0y=ax^2+bx+cy=0(0^2)-1(0)+2(0,2)

The Swing curves in a U-shape making it a parabola.

How to find the Vertex:x=-b/2(a)x=-3/2(1)=-1.5 y=ax^2+bx+cy=1(-1.5^2)+3(-1.5)-4(-1.5,-2.5)

How to find AOS: x=-b/2(a)x=-3/2(1)=-1.5
