Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

My stop animation project is about a fish who is swimming with his school and gets lost. He is then swimming around when a shark comes. The shark chases him and is about to eat him when a puffer fish comes. The puffer fish saves the other fish by scaring away the shark. The fish and the puffer fish become friends and swim off with the puffer fish's family. We chose to do this because it went well with the flow of the music.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, (Пётр Ильи́ч Чайко́вский in Russian) was a Russian composer. He was born on May 7, 1840 in Votkinsk, Russia. He was a sensitive and emotional child who grew up playing piano. He was traumatized by the death of his mother when he was young . He went to St. Petersburg boarding school. He also went to St. Petersburg school of law and he studied music at St. Petersburg conservatory. He was very briefly married to Antonina Ivanovna Milyukova and she was put into a mental hospital shortly after. He was ordered by doctors to leave Russia until his mental state was better. He went to live with his brother in Switzerland for a few years. He had a generous pen-pal who supported him in his composing career until she claimed bankruptcy. He died at 53 on November 6, 1893.

Tchaikovsky's music is most commonly heard as a orchestra and using lots of woodwind instuments. His music is often very happy and energetic then in a short time can switch to being breathtakingly tragic.

Many of Tchaikovsky's ballets have been turned into movies such as the Barbie movies. The ballets that he has written are also still very popular to this day. The romantic eraTchaikovsky compsed music during the romantic era. He fit in well because his music represented fate and freedom. In the romanic era the music became more passionate and emotinal. This era is also when ballets and operas reached the height of their popularity.
