Proverbs

How does the Story Relate to Your Life? The advice taught here would be useful for one at any stage of life. When we set aside our own ways and make a choice to let God's wisdom direct our lives, we live our lives theway God inteended and enjoy His blessings. good things come from following God's wisdom. A part of the passage that I found important was Pr. 3:5-6. It says: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way." God promises if we trust Him, and ackowledge Him in all our ways, He will direct our paths. A lot of situations in life overwhelm us; by being aware of this promise we feel more secure. For instance, a student might feel overwhelmed or stressed whenn they do not get a good mark. Through this verse I can remind myslef that I need to trust in God and believe that He will help me. I f I feel helpless in a situation I can believe that He will show me a path. Proverbs 3 urges us to pursue wisdom above all else. A new computer, bike or anything else we want cannot compare with having wisdom. God's wisdom will bless our lives. Good things come from following God's wisdom.Proverbs contains the most applicable truths in all of the Bible. It reminds us that God is with us not just in the big, catackysmic events of life but with thos mundane, "invisble" moments in our lives as well. Proverbs is completely about instructing people in the path of wisdom.

ThemesThe book of Proverbs is a collection of moral and religious teachings. Much of it has to do with practical , everyday concerns. Much is said about such qualities as humility, patience, respect for the poor, and loyalty to friends. Proverbs states its theme very early in the book: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7). The fear of the Lord refers to our viewing Him with the respect He deserves. It means living our lives by respecting and obeying Him, while also being humble to Him.

First VersePr. 1:1"The proverbs of Solomon, son of David and king of Israel."Last VersePr. 31:31 "Give her credit for all she does. She deserves the respect of everyone."

VersesPr. 17:22, "Being cheerful keeps you healthy. It is slow death to be gloomy all the time."Pr. 30:5, "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him."Pr. 16:9, "In their hearts human beings plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps"Proverbs are religious, but they focus on concrete human experiences. They are easy for anyone to relate to, which makes them even more helpful.

Advice to the YoungPr. 3: 1-35The speaker says to remember the teachings, because they wil help us live for a long time and prosper. If you keep loyalty and faithfulness in your heart God and other people will be happy with you. The speaker says to fear God, and not to trust in our own insights, acknowledging his influence at every moment. Fearing God means having such a respect for Him that it has a great impact on the way we live our lives.Do not resist if God disciplines you, because He corrects people He loves, like a father teaching his kids. Wisdom is better than gold and jewels, and more worthy of pursuit. Long life, riches, pleasantness, peace, and honor all come from wisdom. God used wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to create the earth, the heaven, and the sea. You do not need to fear any kind of panic or sudden storms in your life, God will be your confidence, and protect you.You should keep giving help to people who need it, you should not keep anything from your neighbor, saying you will provide it later, if you already have it. Also, do not plan any sort of violence against your trusting neighbor, start pointless fights, or envy violent people and their ways. God will curse the wicked and foolish and bless the righteous and wise.
