Structure
Foods
Amino Acids- organic compounds made of amine and carboxylic acid functional groups.Enzymes- big biological molecules that are responsible for thousands of metabolic processes that sustain life.Macromolecules- molecules containing large numbers of atoms, sch as proteins, nucleic acid, or synthetic polymer.
Key Terms
-Proteins contain carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and sometimes sulphur.-Amino acids are joined together by peptide bonds formed by condensation reactions.-The Biuret test can be used to see if proteins are present.
