Protein synthesis is one of the most fundamental biological processess by which individual cells build their specific proteins. Within the process are invovled both DNA.

Translation occurs when the mRNA strand moves out of the nucleus and into the cytoplasm. At this point mRNA, rRNA and tRNA all come together. These will be the sites of polypeptide synthesis and elongation. The rRNA is like the factory of translation and if rRNA is the factory than tRNA is the worker.
Translation
Transcription occurs in the cell nucleus where DNA is housed. Think of DNA as instructions to build hardware (proteins), unfortunately, these instructions are in another language and incomprehensible to the workers that will eventually assemble the hardware.
Characters Components and results of transcription
Why are proteins improtant for cells and organisms?
Proteins control biochemical pathways within the cell. They direct the assembly of lipids, carbohydrates, and nucleotides. Proteins also direct cell structure and movement, and it's DNA and RNA that direct the making of proteins
How does a cell make a protein?
