Properties of Matter

This video teachers viewers about the behavior of particles in different types of matter.

Freezing Point for Water: 32°FBoiling Point for Water: 212°FMelting Point for Water: 32°F

Gases

Liquids

A liquid's particles are close together, but move around in an unorganized way, causing the liquid to take the shape of whatever container it's in. When heated more, liquids turn into gases. When cooled, liquids will often freeze back into a solid.

Properties of Matter

By:Maddie Rogers

Particles of a gas move very quickly with lots of space between them. Gases are often the result of heating a liquid. Cooling a gas causes condensation, turning it back into a liquid.

A solid's particles remain in a tight, organized pattern and do not move around. When solid's are heated, they melt, like when ice melts into water.
