- Growth failure, loss of body fat and hair, aged looking skin, stiffness of joins, hip dislocation, generalized atherosclerosis,cardiovascular disease, strokes, high blook pressure, agina, an englarged heart, heart failure, problems with hearing, bone strength, and other issues associated with old age

What is it?

- Disorder causing premature aging in children ages 1-2

How does one get Progeria?

Symptoms:

- Caused by a point mutation in the LMNA gene *Codes for the Lamin A protein (creates structure of nucleus)- Error creates protein Progerin * Contains a molecule "farnesyl group" which causes the faulty nuclear structure
