SummaryMr. Bennet, his wife, and five daughters Jane, Elizabeth,Mary, Kitty, and Lydia all live in Hertfordshire. Unfortunately, if Mr. Bennet dies his estate will be given to a distant cousin they have never met. The objective for Mrs. Bennet is that all of her daughters get into good marriages. Life becomes eventful when a wealthy gentleman named Mr. Bingley arrives with his dashing and prideful friend Mr. Darcy . Jane falls in love with Mr. Bingley. While Elizabeth jump to quick judgement. The sisters go through many trials and tribulations before finding love and happiness

CharactersElizabeth is a headstrong young woman who has to watch her mouth sometimesand wants to not follow the status quo." they are all silly and ignorant like other girls; but lizzy has something more of a quickness than her sisters." (pg 3)Mr. Darcy is seen or assumed as prideful to everyone even more so to Elizabeth until he marries her."Indeed he has no improper pride. He is perfectly amiable. You do not know what he really is..." (pg 341)

ThemesPatience- Jane and Elizabeth had to through false hope when Bingley was'nt showing his love for Jane and drama when Lydia eloped to Wickham. Until over a year later Jane and Bingley finally married.Faith- When Mr. Bennet had to rely on his brother in law to find Lydia after she eloped and pay both of their debts. Elizabeth had to have faith in Mr. Darcy when he wrote his letter explaining everything to her.

SettingThe setting is set in England in the late 1800s.This is significant because the courtship methodsand ways of speaking are different than today.

Literary Terms Foreshadowing was used when Jane was sick in Mr.Bingley's house. His sister insisted that he not marry Jane. The same thing happened when Mrs. De Bourgh tried to convince Jane not marry Mr. Darcy.Irony was used when Jane thought Mr. Bingley did'nt like Jane anymore and Mr. Darcy was behind the whole thing.

Last Line"Darcy as well as Elizabeth, really loved them; and they were both ever sensible of the warmest gratitude towards the persons who, by bringing her into Derbyshire, had been the means of uniting them."This quote explains how Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth were brought together by Mr and Mrs. Gardiner through marriage and this shows their gratiude.
