*Say: Listen to the story. Play the story recording and encourage pupils to follow it in the book.*Play the story again. Pause at pictures 2,3,6 and ask the pupils to count the coconuts with you.*Draw a simple palm tree on the board with 5 coconuts on it. Ask: How many coconuts can you see? and ask them to count from 1 to 5.*Then ask them to close their eyes. Rub out 2 of the coconuts and ask: How many coconuts can you see? Pupils count again. Ask again: Close your eyes. and rub out another coconut, then draw another one in.
