Show and name the Letter Aa, then go to Starfall Letter A

Lesson 3 (section A)*Mime and introduce the actions Clap your hands, touch your head and Stamp your feet.*Play an instruction game. Pupils listen, repeat and then do themselves the instructions. Vary the order and speed to make the game more fun.*Open the book on p.6,7 and ask whom they see. Say where the characters are (jungle) and what they are doing (dancing).*Explain that some pieces of the colour picture are missing. Ask pupils to point to the grey parts and say Head, hands, feet.

4. WPJ My Body

Lesson 3 (section B)*Put number flashcards on the floor, call out the number words, from 1 to 5. As you count, ask pupils to point to the corresponding cards.*Mess the numbers and repeat the activity.*Find different objects in the classroom for pupils to count aloud with you (5 pencils, 4 picture flashcards, 3 shapes, etc.)

Section A*Show the pupils how to trace the letter with your finger. Name the strokes as you do them (1,2,3). Encourage the kids to follow along with their fingers. *Pass out coloured pencils and tell the pupils Let's draw with a red pencil! Circle the word RED at the top of the page (it will help the pupils to identify the words later in the book).After finishing all the As, point to the apple and say Let's color the apple! What colour is an apple? Do the same with the alligator picture.

Section B*Have all the pupils stand up in a big circle. Do the gestures for an apple and alligator.*Play the A Song and doing gestures encourage the kids to sing.Section C*Have the pupils sit down around the table again and hand out Activity printables. Explain, show how to do each excercise.
