Pre-School Lesson 5

Put 24 flashcards into the sack and ask the Pupils to put their hands into it to choose a card. Then they have to show the picture and name it. If somebody forgets the word, you can ask him/her a couple of questions about this picture: (Octopus) Is this a ball? No! Is this a queen? No! Is this an octopus? Yes! Octopus!Before you start the game choose the first picture by yourself and say a wrong word. Pupils will correct the mistake. So they all will be involved to the game.

Tell Pupils to look through the p.4. Ask if pupils know the Disney Characters from The Jungle Book. Introduce them This is Mowgli. This is king Louie.Touch your head, hands and feet, saying the Enghish words as you do so Watch me. My head, my hands, my feet. Then indicate your whole body and say: My body.Ask pupils to stand up and touch their heads, bodies, hands and feet with you. Repeat until pupils are confident with the actions. Vary the pace.

Ask Pupils to point to various parts of the bodies in the picture, e.g. Point to Mowgli's feet.Say: Listen (do the gesture). Play the chant. Encourage Pupils to clap or beat out the rhythm as they listen.Play the chant again, demonstrating the actions.Play again, encouraging Pupis to join in with you, first with just the actions, then with the actions and the words.

Before playing the Video revise BLUE RED YELLOW GREEN PURPLE PINK colours using flashcards. And then show Starfall BROWN and ORANGE colours. Elicit the Pupils to repeat after you. Ask the Pupils to find smth [colour]

Place the pool with coloured balls in the centre of the hall. Ask the Pupils to sort the balls. Have a basket for each colour.To make the Pupils understand what they need to do play the action yourself: Put PINK balls into this basket, please!OK!Find the ball and bring it to the basket. Then invite all the Pupils to find all PINK balls.

Practise the new body parts by playing a touch game. First touching with the Pupils and then just calling out instructions for them. Activity Book p.2

6. Getting Ready 5

As only two new words are left to study in Getting Ready section, you can invite all the Pupils to sit around the table and show the flashcards, play the Y and Z Songs. Then hand out sheets WITHOUT pencils and show carefully how to trace the lines with fingers. After that:-[name], give me the BROWN pencil, please!-OK!Then encourage the Pupils to ask you for the pencil.
