Elie was just a teenager when he and his family were sent from their home to the ghetto, and then to Auschwitz.Moshe, one of the men in the town, warned the community of what was happening in the work camps, but no one believed him. They thought he was crazy.They found out that he was right.

On the train ride to the camp. Madame Schachter kept seeing smoke and flames.Little did the passengers know that she was seeing their fate.
