The myth is about a dissagrement between Poseidon and Athena over land that now a days is known as Athens. After arguing for a while the decided to let the humans decide who will have the land. The compitition was to see who had the best gift for the humans. So Poseidon gave them a salt water foutain and Athena gave them an olive tree. In the end the humans choose Athena because the olive tree gave them so many uses to the humans. Although Poseidon is still worshiped in Athens.
Had the powers to manipulat water, lighting, and when he strikes the gorund creates earthquakes.
