Synapses are the gaps between neurons. When the nerve signal reaches one, it triggers a chemical called neurotransmitters. They act as messengers that carry the signal across other neurons. When they reach the next neuron they convert into an electrical signal, then the signal travels along the length of the axon of the nerve cell.
Human hands have opposable thumbs that allows us to do a variety of things like, holding a pencil, or even bigger objects like holding a book.

Humans are able to stand upright because we have wider thigh bones, that support our body.
Cerebrum- controls emotions, thoughts, solving complex problemsCerebellum- controls posture and balanceBrainstem- controls heartbeat, and breathing The human brain has a very large frontal lobe and cerebrum compared to other primates. The human brain is responsible for our complex behavior because the brain controls all parts of the human body, including our senses (sensory cortex) and thoughts (cerebrum).
Parts of Human Brain/ Functions
Different lobes also play a part in humans' complex behavior. The frontal lobe controls thinking, planning, organizing, personality, and problem solving. The parietal lobe controls help make sense of the world, arthmetic and spelling. The temporal lobe controls memory and language. A long childhood gives humans the ability to learn language and develop a complex culture because by fully developing our brains it hepls us make better choices and decisions.
