Steps to Graph 1. Write linear equations from tables. In this lesson you will learn how to write linear equations from tables. 2. Graph lines in slope intercept form. In this lesson you will learn how to graph lines in slope-intercept form. 3. Graph lines in standard form. 4. Graph lines in point slope form. 5. Write a trend line from a scatter plot.

They've given me m = 4, x1 = –1, and y1 = –6. I'll plug these values into the point-slope form, and solve for "y=":y – y1 = m(x – x1)y – (–6) = (4)(x – (–1))y + 6 = 4(x + 1)y + 6 = 4x + 4y = 4x + 4 – 6y = 4x – 2

The equation of a straight line in the form y − y1 = m(x − x1) where m is the slope of the line and (x1, y1) are the coordinates of a given point on the line
