Roots

The stems bring the water and nutrients from the roots up into the leaves of the plant. Once the nutrients reach the leaves they can go to other parts of the plant.

Stem Function

The leaves are where the plant's food is made. This process is called photosynthesis, which takes sunlight and makes sugar to feed the plant.
