Plant Cell

THE PLANT CELL

There are many organelles inside a plant cell. Here I will explain many of them, what they do, and how they benefit a plant cell to survive.

Mitochondria

A mitochondrion is what supplies the cell with energy. It produces ATP which powers the cell.

Vacuole

A vacuole stores nutrients and waste products.

They also maintain turgor pressure.

Nucleus

The nucleus contains the DNA of the cell and orders other organelles to carry out life processes.

Ribosome

Chloroplasts are how the cell gets energy from the sun. They also make chlorophyll, which makes plants green.

Ribosomes are made of RNA and protein. They are where protein synthesis occurs.

The cell wall helps maintain the shape of the cell. It also protects the cell.
