Planets

Throughout history, people have not only been interested, but also inspired by the planets and space. Music from the ancient Greeks was based on the movement and position of planets. In the early 20th C., Gustav Holst wrote an Orchestral Suite: The Planets. Chris Hadfield, famous Canadian astronaut became very popular in part because of the music he made from outer space.

The Planets

Planets can be categorized by their terrain. Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars all have terrestrial or rocky surfaces. Jupiter and Saturn are Gas Giants and Uranus and Neptune are Ice Giants.

The planets revolve around the sun, because of the sun's gravitational pull. If there were to be any major changes in the mass of any planet or the sun, the result could throw the planets off course.
