Look what I found on Pinterest!

Most people use Pinterest to share photos, links, tips or ideas with other Pinterest users

History Pinterest is a social photo-sharing network that was created in 2009 by Ben Silbermann. For a while, Pinterest was available by "invite-only".Within 9 months of its launch, it had over 10,000 users.Time Magazine listed Pinterest as one of the "50 Best Websites of 2011".By 2012, Pinterest has become one of the top 10 social networking sites, with over 11 million hits per week.

Two reasons I think Pinterest is an excellent online resourcefor teachers:Addition teacher uses of this application:--See real examples of lessons, manipulatives, and students' work.--Get links to the original sources for educational materials--Share your own examples or boards (collection of pins) with other Pinterest users, such as parents, fellow teachers, or principals for free.

Wow! Look at all of the educational resources!

Students can look at other students' examples and come up with new ideas based on things they saw on Pinterest. They can click on the pictures of things they find interesting to research more deeply from the original site. Students could do a research project based on a unit and students have to create a board and find pins that provide information about their topic. Students can use Pinterest to share their own original work with peers or their teacher.

Another helpful pin found on Pinterest!
