Muscular systemYour brain raises the set point for body temperature, and you begin to shiver as a physiological response in an attempt to raise temperature to the new set point. When it is cold outside and your body temperature begins to drop, your shivering response is triggered to produce heat and maintain body temperature.

Circulatory SystemLow temperatures cause your blood vessels and arteries to narrow, restricting blood flow and reducing oxygen to the heart. Your heart must pump harder to circulate blood through the constricted blood vessels. As blood flows past cells heat will move from the blood to the cells. This exchange of heat keeps all the body parts at the same temperature.
Integumentary SystemWhen body temperature falls, the sweat glands constrict. If the body temperature continues to fall, the body will engage in heat generation, by raising the body's metabolic rate and by shivering. It also signals blood vessels in the dermis to close, which reduces blood flow to the skin surface. As a result, heat is kept within the core of the body.
