Different plants use different types of photosynthesis

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants utilize the energy of the sun in order to synthesize glucose from carbon dioxide and water.NET REACTION: (Look at where arrow is pointing )

Plants use the molecule RuBP in order for carbon fixation to occur and evenutally leading to the production of G3P.

C3 plants directly use RuBP to boost efficiency

Plants in areas of high oxygen concentration use bundle sheathcells and PEP to seperate oxygen and RuBP. These are C4 plants.

Photosynthesis plays a key role in the AP Biology curriculum as it is a key chemical reaction. It is essential to understand this concept to fully understand all of the other biogeochemical cycles.

Water is split apart into two hydrogen and one oxygen atoms. The two electrons are "swept away" into the electron transport chain. Then when the electrons come into contact with sun they become excited and they go up into the primary electron acceptor from PSII. They travel down into the electron transport chain into photosystem 1.

After PSII, PSI aids in transfering energy from excited electrons. It takes the excited electrons and with them reduces NAD to NADPH and reduces ADP + Pi to ATP.
