Philosophers Who Inspired Revolution

John Locke greatly influenced the ideas and thoughts during the enlightment. John lockes beliefs in natural rights; God given rights to life, libery, and property. Caused citizens to question their government. His beliefs are even written in the American Constituion. John Locke is a major asset to follwoing guide lines to a Democracy.

Montesquieu believed that a government that was elected by the people was the best form of government.He thought it most important to create separate branches of government with equal but different powers He also believed women should have the ability to govern.

James Madison is considered the most influential contributor to the United States Constitution. He believed in checks and balances and seperation of powers. James ideas influenced the growth of Democracy.

Simon Bolivar was a revolutionary who freed six countries, an intellectual who argued the problems of national liberation, and a great general. He fought against tyranny, and dident like liberalism. He inspired people to revolt across the Americas.
