Phases of the Moon

~Moonlight is sunlight that reflects off the surface of the moon.~The moon's orbit is tilted.~It takes 29.5 days to go through all the phases.~Waning is when the moon gets smaller, and waxing is when the moon gets bigger.~The days it takes to go from one new moon to the next is called a lunar month.~The amount of days in a month is based on the moon's cycle of phases.~The moon looks different in each phase because of the way sunlight hits the moon.~Moon phases are the different shapes you see of the moon from Earth.~The phases depend on the position of the Moon, Sun, and Earth.~It takes 27.3 days for the Moon to revolve around the Earth.~The Moon starts waxing after a new moon.~The Moon starts waning after a full moon.~The new moon rises and sets with the sun.
