Petroleum is a nonrenewable source.

Petroleum is easy for transport and is an excellent source of organic moleculesfor making plastics,medicines, and rubber.

Almost 50% of all the oil consumed is in the U.S. is for transportation.Crude oil is considered "the mother of all commodities".New York has the lowest per-capita energy consumption of any state.

People use petroleum use wax for candles.They also use it for gasoline and kerosene.

Petroleum containsCO2.It also contains some cancer compounds though. Because petroleum contains CO2 it also increases the chances of global warming.

Also petroleum residuals excellent surface for asphalt roads.
