Penguins are the only flightless bird adapted to living diving powered wings. Hence, the wings have become strongly compressed fins bones and stiff joints which prevent the independent movement of the wing bones.
Penguins are a group of marine birds, flightless, distributed only in the Southern Hemisphere, especially at high latitudes.

Penguins feed primarily on fish.
The first Europeans to observe these birds were members of the first expedition of Vasco da Gama, who called them stupid and clumsy birds by walking upright and being a flightless bird.
There are currently between 16 and 19 penguins, according to the criteria used, although the number has increased consensus is that of 17 species. These species are divided into 6 well-defined genres
