[2015] Taylor Knowles: Paul McCartney

An Amazing Music CareerPaul McCartney is one of the most influential musicians of all time. He was also part of what is debated to be the one of the most popular and influential groups in the history of pop music, The Beatles. His partnership with bandmate John Lennon is one of the most celebrated of the 20th century. Paul's influence in music is still considerable even now. His biggest part in The Beatles was to create lyrics with partner Lennon. Their music had meaning and heart, it meant something to themselves and had a place in each listener's heart. Politics have always played a huge role in the music of the Beatles as well. Paul himself and the band has participated in many charity events as well as taking up a variety of causes. A very influential part of Paul's life was his view of Christianity. It is plain to see that Lennon's lack of belief in Christianity transferred over to other bandmates such as Paul. There were also many musicians that influenced Paul and the band. Including Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Carl Perkins. One of the most influential things that The Beatles acomplished was using the Moog Synthesizer. They ended up using the synthesizer in four of their songs on the Abbey Road album. By using the new Moog Synthesizer, they changed the way of electronic music. It was an easier way to recreate electronic recorded sounds, they didn't have to spend excess amounts of money to get specific sounds. McCartney's musical career has left him with 60 gold discs, and sales of over 100 million albums and 100 million singles. His scope is so broad, over 2,200 artists have covered his song "Yesterday". He is also a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (once as a bandmate in The Beatles and once as a solo artist). He has also won 21 grammys and qritten 32 songs that have reached #1.
