Symptoms

- Isolated - Auditory hallucinations- they hear things that are not real. - Delusions- beliefs that is not real. - Anxiety - Detachment – patient may be physically and emotionally reserved and remote. - Aggression and violence - Quarrels - Condescension- patient feels as if they know things other are unaware of. - Suicidal thoughts and behaviour - Become socially withdrawn

Brain dysfunction most probably caused by a combination of genetics and enviromental triggers.

Possible Causes

Possible Treatments

- Medications: Atypical and Typical antipsychotics- for the treatment of psychiatric conditions.- Other drugs: Antidepressants, anti-anxiety drug or mood-stabilizing medications.- Hospitalization: if the symptoms get critical, hospitalization is the safest option in terms of the patience nutrition, sleep and help with hygiene. - Psychotherapy: Very important. - Social and Vocational skills training: This may help the patient live independently. - ECT (electroconvulsive therapy): In this procedure an electric current is sent through the brain to produce controlled seizures (convulsion).
