Pablo Picasso

Picasso was a very famous artist who probably made 50,000 pieces of art in his life! He was born in 1881 on October 25. He could draw before he could talk! When he went to art school, his teachers were amazed! But Picasso didn't like to copy other famous paintings. He wanted to do what he wanted! Picasso drew and painted a lot of themes. His most famous one, called the Blue Period, happened after his friend Carlos Casagemas died in 1901. He began to paint in blue and focused on blind people, beggars, lonely people and prisoners. Eventually, he made much happier pictures later in his life. The Blue Period only lasted a few years. Picasso was still making art in his 70s and 80s. He met a lot of women in his life. Most of whom were much younger than him. He had 4 children; Paulo, when married with Olga, Maya, when married with Marie-Thérèse, and Claude and Paloma, when married with Françoise. Some of Picasso's grandchildren still exist today! Overall, Picasso was a great artist and brought the style of Cubism into the world. Cubism is an artstyle that makes the subject look like it is falling apart, or if they were pieces of a puzzle.
