Pablo Picasso

1901-1904: Blue Period1907-1922: Cubism1924-1966: Surrealism

Picasso was born in 1881 in Malaga, Spain. When he was 14 his family moved to Barcelona where he studied art in the prestigious School of Fine Arts. Where he excelled even at a young age. In 1900 he moved to Paris, at this his works are classifed as his blue period. This was because of his use of shades of blue to creat his paintings, that also represented his depression and poverty. As his wealth and popularity rose he enterd the rose period , named for his use of pink shades, then he tranitioned into Cubism in 1907, in these painting cube or blocks where used. After that he started exsperimenting more with Classical, Surrealism, portery and self portraits.


Piscaso was one of the most famous artist of the 20th century and arguably all time. His name has became synonamous with art, becoming a household name. He was a humble man, who wasnt in it for the money. As shown in when he died he had many famous paintings in his collection. He was a art trend setter, as he is noted for the start of the Cubeism, Surrealism and Blue Period. His works where not only revolutionary but meaningful. With meanings running from politics to his personal life. He has impacted art for the rest of time with over 20,000 paintings, prints, drawings, and sculptures.

Piscaso is one of the most infulentual artists of the 20th century. Because not only did he infulance the trends of the art world, but he inspired and infuenced generations of artists around the world.
