Overcoming Egos

Approaches to learning that help students overcome their egos and the illumination of light that change brings.

Educators can create desirable relationships with students by identifying what qualities students have as learners. This relationship is the baseline for teachers to create an environment that is structured around trust and community. This environment allows students to take risks, challenge their own assumptions, and begin to create their own reality and perceptions. When students are able to construct their own knowledge, they are also learning how to assess their awareness of themselves in relation to learning. This illumination of meta-cognition is a way to guide students to redirect rational thinking patterns with purpose.
