Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become fragile and more likely to fracture. The bone usually looses density and the percentage of calcium inside the bone.

The cause of Osteoporosis occurs when there is an inbalance between new bone formation and old bone resorption. It effects mainly elderly and frail people.

Did you know, that worldwide, 1 in 3 women over 50 will expierence orthoporosis fractures, and also 1 in 5 men will be affected. Annually, there are 8.9 million fractures!

There are some avaliable treatments to Osteoporosis, such as alenclronate, risedronate, and ibandronate, but the most common is biophosphates.

In 2010, researchers were able to measure the force of each fall and compare this to known info about the amount of impact a patient with osteoporosis can withstand. Falls are taught in martial art s to help reduce hip impact forces and can be learned by older persons, may prevent hip fractures among persons with osteoprorosis.
