Osteoarthritis is the inflammation of the bone. It results from the tearing or degeneration of cartilage in the joints. This disease is common in the bones of the fingers, wrist, knees, hips, and the spine. Adding to this, osteoarthritis is more common after the age of 45 in men and women. When osteoarthritis happens, it thickens the cartilage of the bone at the edge of a joint which creates ridges of the bones.
