• Osiris, also called Usir, was a powerful and important god of ancient Egypt. • He was the god of the underworld and fertility. • He was the first child of Nut and Geb and the brother of Nephthys, Seth, and Isis, also known as his wife. • No one really knows how he died, but it is rumored that his brother Seth, killed him. He then tore his body into pieces and threw them over Egypt. Isis and his other sister Nephthys, found his dead body and buried him. •Horus his son, killed Seth avenging Osiris. Soon enough, Horus became the new king of Egypt. • In memory of Osiris, they had festivals where the main feature of the whole festival was “Osiris garden”. The Osiris garden was molded into the shape of Osiris and was filled with soil.
Accomplishments
•Osiris being the god of fertility, he gave the egyptians barley, one of the most important crops.•Osiris reflooded the Nile if it didn't flood as much and made the grains grow•Osiris was a very generous and kind king. He taught his people what to eat and how to farm.
Lasting Impact
•Osiris showed his bravery toward his muderer/brother and died known as a hero. As you know, he couldn't stay in the living world so he went to the underworld to serve as king and judge the dead.• He was also a very kind and wise king and was someone to look up to.
