Oscar Wilde was born in Dublin on 16 December 1854 to Sir William Wilde and Lady Jane Wilde. He had an elder brother, Willie and a younger sister Isola.

*After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, Oscar Wilde became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s.*Wilde was bisexual.*He married Constance Lloyd on May 29,1884, and had two sons, Cyril and Vyvyan. *At the height of his fame and success—his masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest, was still on stage in London—Wilde sued his lover's father for libel. After a series of trials, Wilde was convicted of gross indecency with other men and was imprisoned.

Oscar Wilde (Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde, 16 October 1854 – 30 November 1900) was an Irish writer, poet and playwright.

*After his release, he spend the rest of his life wandering Europe, staying with friends and living in cheap hotels.*He died of cerebral meningitis on November 30, 1900, penniless, in a cheap Paris hotel.
