Blade Runner-My StoryBy: Oscar Pistorius
This biography is about a paralympian named Oscar Pistorius. He was born on November 22, 1986 in Johannesburg with his fibula missing in both legs. Growing up he thought of himself as a normal child. Oscar loved sports but in order to particpate he first needed a pair of prostheses. Once he got his prosthetic legs, he became more involved in track & field. He especially liked running the 100 meter, 200 Meter, and 400 meter dashes. He beame pretty good at these races and eventually participated as a paralympian in the paralympic and olympic games. On his way to the top of his full potential, he encountered a problem with his prostheses. He was prosecuted for them because they were seen as an unfair advantage towards the other sprinters. So Oscar had to go through a variety of test for them to prove that they were in fact illegally giving him an advantage. After all the tests were done, it was confirmed that his prostheses gave him no advantage whatsoever. He was now able to participate in his running events again. He was fortunate to run in the paralympic games with other runners with disablilities and olympic games with the able-body athletes. From that point on Oscar began to further excel in his spriniting. He set a vareity of personal records and world or meet records on his way to becoming one of the best sprinters in the world.
