WHAT'S HAPENING TO OUR OCEANS?
OCEAN ACIDIFICATION
When did ocean acidification start? *in the past decade scientists have figured out that oceans absorb co2,but seawater+co2=acid *throughout the industrial age whichstarted in the 1800s-today, the world has emitted over a billion tons of co2

Back to intro
What is ocean acidification?* Ocean acidification is the ongoing decrease of pH of Earth’s oceans caused by the uptake of CO2* *30-40% of co2 realesed by humans into the atmostphere dissolves into the oceans, rivers, lakes, etc.
How does it affect sea creatures? The shells of sea creatures are very sensitive to acidMost sea animals like crabs or lobsters’ shells are broken down or deformedAlso, since co2 is rising, so is the tempature. So the animals that live by the artic have no where colder to migrate. and even a couple degrees can make a big change.
HOW CAN WE SAVE OUR OCEANS?*you can help by using less fossil feuls and to stop cutting down trees.*We can still save the ocean and don't say, "I'm just one person it won't hurt anything," because about 1 million people are thinking the same thing
