I am very pleased with the teaching and their learning progress. Although the proper term was defined and empahsized, the student remember the terms as either "big number" (standard form) and "long number" (expanded notation) which these terms were used to help them remember the content easier.

IntroductionThrough inclusion of technology, manipulatives, and variety of activites, students will explore and examine 3-digit numbers and their place values. It is important for students to have firm understanding of place value because they learn the value of a number as well as order of numbers.

This unit plan includes different teaching strategies and learning activities such as direction instructions, concept formation, learning cycle, arts, physical movement, and technology inclusions to engage student learning to its fullest. Students will learn numbers up to 1,000 and value of 3-digit numbers through different activities.

Counting Numbers Up To 1,000 !

I learend that I need to have additional worksheets or work for students who finish work earlier or for those who need additional help/practice. I also learned that although I'm limited in time, through various activities, students can learn and practice the content.

Instructional Plan

Activity TwoStudents will make a foldable.Students will think of their own 3-digit number to define the place value of each digit, draw the base-ten blocks, and labe each place value

Activity OneStudents will group 10-blocks to form a hundred and write how many hundreds and tens are shown. Furthermore, students will write the number in standard form.

Activity ThreeStudents will cut out up to 9 pieces of each base-ten blocks to create a buildling/house. Then, students will count the numbers of each blocks used, write the number in three different ways.

In Conclusion, I learned that math should be implemented throughout day. For example, the learning content can be quickly visted through morning message, as form of a ticket to exit or enter into a class, and more. Students enjoyed learning the content through different activities. Starting the lesson with activity really helped students to enjoy the learning as well as really focus on the work!
