Ellen Rosen
The Rosen's were one of the many Jewish families in Denmark. Ellen's father had given her this necklace when she was really young, but Annemarie had to yank it off to protect her when the soldiers came.
Her best friend from birth was Annemarie Johansen, who ended up saving Ellen's life.
To receive safety from the German soldiers, Jews needed to sail from Denmark to Sweden.
Henrik, Peter, and other fishermen risked their lives by hiding Jewish families, including the Rosens, in their fishing boats and taking them to Sweden.
Ellen and her family reached freedom because Annemarie brought her Uncle Henrik the handkerchief soaked with a drug ruining the search dogs' smell.
When Ellen's parents escaped, she stayed with Annemarie's family. She pretended to be her sister, Lise, who had actually died right before her wedding a few years ago. Luckily Lise's hair was black when she was a baby, so Ellen passed as part of the Johansen family.
Ellen was the only child to Mr. and Mrs. Rosen. She had dark, curly hair.
