Meaningful Line

Annemarie Johansen is a 10 year old girl who lives in denmark with her family during world war two. Her best friend, Ellen Rosen, is a Jew who is being hunted down by the Nazi's. Annemarie had a sister named Lise who died years ago. Lise hides with the Johansen's and pretends to be Lise. Lise's old fiance, Peter, is going to help Annemarie's Uncle get the Jews to sweeden on his boat. Ellen and the Jews escape safely to Sweeden.

"I wonder if I will ever see her again?" Annemarie said sadly " You will little one, after all you saved her life" said Uncle Henrik.Page 127This line sums up a lot of the book and it shows that friendship is forever.

I reccomend this book because it gives a lot of perspective of the Jews who had to hide in the Holocaust, along with the people hiding them. It is a very exciting book with many interesting parts. The story is always interesting and it is a very good book in general.

The Story's theme is that anyone can be a hero. Annemarie exhibits great toughness and bravery throughout the story.

World War 2 took place from 1939 to 1945. Adlof Hitler was the leader of the Axis forces which consisted of Germany, Italy, Japan, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. Hitler was determined for not only World domination but to eliminate the Jews. The Axis forces were being fought by the Allied forces, U.S., Britain, France, USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia. The Allies won the war and Hitler killed himself before they got to him.
