Energy generated by using wind, tides, solar, geothermal heat, and biomass including farm and animal waste as well as human excreta is known as non-conventional energy.

Tidal energy, is a form of hydropower that converts the energy of tides into useful forms of power, mainly electricity.

Wind power is extracted from air flow using wind turbines or sails to produce mechanical or electrical power.
